French painter, considered the leader of the Impressionist movement. Although time has not elevated his fame to the level of other great masters, Camille Pissarro was the most prominent personality in the Parisian artistic scene, between 1870 and 1880. His works are considered as forerunners of Impressionism and revolutionary, as stated by painters such as Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, and Alfred Sisley.
Pissarro's paintings purely capture the Impressionist style: depth, image constructed with visible brushstrokes, use of color vibration, and a meticulous study of natural light. Pissarro's paintings are open and clear, mainly landscapes.
