"Olive Orchard" was painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, during his stay at the sanatorium in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where the genius would spend the last days of his life.
In one of his letters to Theo, he refers to the painting with these words: "Its violet shadows lie on the sunlit sand."
It is currently located in the Nelson-Atkins Museum, Kansas City.
