Louvre Museum

Museum in Paris and the first art exhibition in France. It is the quintessential Museum, the most visited in the world, one of the largest and, in the opinion of many, holds the most interesting works, among them The Mona Lisa.

The pieces found within the building belong to 3 categories: archaeology, decorative arts, and fine arts, the latter being works exclusively before Impressionism.

The collection found in the Louvre has been forged over centuries, since its opening in 1793, the main source of enrichment comes from the transfer of pieces from the nobility to the "people", a process strongly driven by the French Revolution.

The architecture of the building is a fusion of Renaissance and modern. On the outside, wide sculptural marble decorations on the façade share space with modern architectural designs of glass and steel, including the huge transparent pyramid that characterizes the view of this museum. Inside, magnificent baroque decorations coexist with modern and neoclassical spaces. All this establishes a unique, iconic, and representative ensemble of the art history linked to the city of Paris.
