On the Beach, Manet

During a holiday stay in a village called Berck-sur-Mer, located in northern France, in the department of Pas-de-Calais.
The characters shown in the canvas are his wife Suzanne, and brother Eugène, who posed especially for him.
The black and grey colors seen in this work, rarely used by Manet, along with the absence of realism in the perspective, make this work considered one of the most influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of the time, known as Japonisme.
