It's interesting that the painter chose to dress the girl in Greco-Latin style and purple because this color was reserved only for the emperor. The young woman is not only beautiful and advised by the angels of heaven, but she also possesses authority over others.
This artwork was created four years before the piece called "Youth", which would offer a very similar composition, this time with the maiden covering her ears.
